Before August is gone I wanted to share with you FIVE beauty products I could not put down in July. Did you also find something amazing?
This has become my favourite lipstick by far, not only because of the formula and packaging but the colour!! The best way to describe Secret Salma would be ‘your lips but better’ and believe me, much much better. It’s a light berry/deep rose that is super natural but at the same time gives you a great boost to the skin and eyes. It also flatters any makeup look. The texture is semi matte, really comfortable to wear and the formula is non-drying so it lasts a long time without moving.
It is what I need every morning to feel fully awake, in the middle of the day to keep going and before going to bed to give the perfect closure to the day. It is a luxurious beauty treat in a bottle. A face mist that takes inspiration from the Queen of Hungary water, which was a perfume made for the Queen of Hungary in the 14th Century. The rose and neroli scent make the whole experience relaxing and addictive, you don’t want to put it down during the day. And the orange blossom, rose and sage waters have a calming effect and help to tone the skin. I find it refreshing when the weather is hot and comforting when I have any breakouts. Use it over make throughout the day or post-cleanse am/pm.
I am not a big fan of foundation and don’t like heavy powders either, I’m all about natural and glowy skin so the less I cover it, the fresher I feel. I’ve got to be honest, I would never have bought this product if it hadn’t been on sale so I’m really happy I decided to give it a go. Hydrates, lightens, soften pores and gives the true soft-focus effect. It doesn’t matter how much product you apply, it would never look cakey or completely matte, actually quite the opposite, the skin will always be radiant and glowing.
The coverage can be buildable depending on the application. I personally like to use a brush so the coverage is less intense, but it can also be applied with a sponge if full coverage is your thing. The shade I’m using now that I have a little bit of a tan is Honey 5, which would normally be really dark for me so I guess during winter I would go back two shades down, probably Beige 3. The colour looks really dark in the pot but once you apply it is completely different as you can see. The change is subtle but it reduces redness.
In love with this palette and the quality of the eyeshadows. Creamy, buttery texture with no fallout, how amazing is that?. The colours all matte and warm toned, all of them really wearable, even the red and orange if you use them in the centre of the eyelid to add a little bit of a boost to the look. It’s a perfect palette for every day, day and night depending on the intensity and the colour choice.
I’m usually wearing Across the Street all over the lid to create a base which is the second lightest shade of the palette, then I go over with Eerily Empty which is the one I use the most, a beautiful reddish orangey light brown that warms up the whole thing and looks really natural, and to finish along the eye socket I lightly apply Two Clocks, a black brown eyeshadow that can also be used as an eyeliner. If I feel inspired and rebel I would put in the centre of the lid a dab of Through the Window the intense orange I was telling you about.
To be honest, this is not a new favourite, I have always loved this product but sometimes I forget about it while trying something else. In July I rediscovered it and it reminded me why I like it so much. The shade I use is Dark Brown the darkest of the four she has but don’t be put off by the way this colour sounds, they are all super natural and sheer only giving you more organised eyebrows. It also leaves them in place without making them rigid. It’s a mild gel that keeps everything in place for a more defined look.
The size and the shape of the brush allow you to take the right amount of product and be very precise in the application. If you want more colour payoff you can brush over and over, your brows won’t look stiff.
