Soul free from shades, eyes full of shadows. My top FIVE eye palettes.

Straight to the point. My favourite Eye Palettes, the ones I use every day for every occasion.

1. CLARINS EYE MAKE-UP PALETTE

First of all I have to say that I adore Clarins, I use day cream, night cream, eye contour cream, lip cream, neck cream, body cream, etc… everything from them. Great quality, luxurious packaging and affordable. This palette was a limited edition one, but they have a very similar one at the moment, two or three different colours but pretty much same as this one. Its a perfect palette to use day or night and for all sorts of looks, for smokey eyes or simply to give them a little bit of light. It all depends on the occasion and of course, inspiration.

2. SLEEK MAKE UP, I DIVINE PALETTE IN SUNSET 568

I have to admit that this is my first time using Sleek and I find the quality of the eyeshadows really good, they are not the softest in texture but are easy to apply and last intact almost the whole day (the colour might start fading after a long and active day but nothing to obvious) also the colours are very unique, I had never seen a palette like this before, If you have please let me know, but this vivid combination is pretty unique. The reds and orangey colours go beautifully with hazel/green eyes.

The price is the best I would say, £8.99 and you have 12 colours to experiment and try different looks. Each of the palettes come with one matte dark hue so you can create the smokey effect we all love.

3. L’OREAL PARIS COLOR RICHE QUAD – E6 EAU DE ROSE

Glittery, beautiful pink shadows, perfect for brightening the eyes, love the burgundy/plummy shade that adds the drama to the look in case that is your thing. I have hazel eyes so burgundy, reds, copper, light brown, purple, are the colours I usually go for and always add light underneath the eyebrow or in the inner corners  with the pink ones.

Lisa Eldridge whom I adore has a great tutorial using this palette, here the link in case you want to see another way of using it.

4. BENEFIT SMOKIN’ EYES

Benefit is an American brand founded in 1976 popular for the Brow shaping kits and even more well known for its Rose tint for cheek and lip. I personally adore the kits they make specially this one or the big beautiful eyes. Its a neutral Palette that you can use on its own or mixed with other colours from other brands or palettes. Again for day or night, for dramatic or ordinary looks.

It comes with pink highlight base shadow, pewter base shadow, deep charcoal shadow, eye bright, smokin’liner, brow zings shaping wax in medium, fluff shadow/hard angle brush and two more elements that I could not find which are the tiny benefit tweezers and a tiny and fun leaflet that guides you through each step.

I like this kit because is practical and straight to the point. You want the traditional smokey eye and its variations? well, you don’t need anything else, brows and eyes covered. Mirror is great and the packaging fun and perfect to take with you for touch up.

5. CLARINS PERFECT EYES & BROWS PALETTE

DSC01582

I just realised that they have changed the packaging of this product but inside is exactly the same. It comes with three different powders to match every brow colour, black, brown and blonde, a holding wax to set brows that is very easy to use with the brush, a light pink shadow to enhance the eyes, brush applicator, mini tweezers, eyebrow brush and mirror.

Another convenient palette not only to have perfectly shaped brows but also fantastic for a natural and discreet eye makeup; yes, the powders can be used as eye shadows, how amazing is that? I normally don’t like strong brows so I mix the three colours of powder to create an almost imperceptible brow shape. This palette works great for the no make-up make-up look.
